About Sun, Sea and Selling Houses

Chances are you will have heard of the hit Channel 4 series, Sun, Sea and Selling Houses. This popular television series follows two British expat families who made the permanent move to the sunny South of Spain and set up their own Spanish estate agents. Sun, Sea and Selling Houses series 1 was first on our screens in the UK in March 2017 and has since inspired thousands to buy a property in Spain.

The two companies the program is based around are Spanish property Choice and Casas Manuel. Spanish Property Choice is run by the Garner family. They are based in Mojacar, a coastal resort on the Costa Almeria. The company was established in 2007 and 14 years later they now have over 1000 properties for sale in the South of Spain. Casas Manuel is run by the Rodriguez family. They are based on the Costa Blanca with two offices in the beautiful Spanish town of Benijofar and the coastal town of La Zenia. They also have a dedicated office for after sales which is also located in Benijofar. The company was established in 2005.

The basis of Sun, Sea and Selling Houses is of course property hunting in the sun. However the narration as well as the estate agents themselves are what makes the show such an entertaining watch and why so many of us find ourselves hooked. So who narrates Sun, Sea and Selling Houses? The programme is narrated by actor and comedian Jon Culshaw, who rose to fame after beginning working in radio in 1988. Following his radio career, he went on to work in film, television and specifically comedy. As well as comedic narration, the series cast of Sun, Sea and Selling houses offer character driven comedy with the agents’ personalities shining through themselves. You really get to know and like both the Garner and the Rodriguez families and look forward to seeing them on your screen week after week.

Each episode of Sun, Sea and Selling Houses follows someone who is looking to purchase a property whether that be as a holiday home, a permanent home or an investment property. As a participant in the show should your application be successful, you would first of all get to discuss your property requirements. This may include your budget, number of bedrooms required, what amenities you would like nearby, distance to the beach and so on.
